5th death anniversary of legendary Philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi

Whenever someone talking about real life super heroes then the only name comes in to the mind is Late Abdul Sattar Edhi. He was born in February 28, 1928 and died on July 8, 2016. Today is the 5th death anniversary of internationally acknowledged legendry philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi also known as “Angel of Mercy”.

Edhi was the founder of Edhi Foundation, largest ambulance service in the world, initiated in 1958 with taintless services.

Nomination for Nobel Peace Prize and other regional awards including:

  • Ramon Magsaysay Award for public service (1968)
  • Lenin Peace Prize (1988)
  • Nishan-e-Imtiaz from Government of Pakistan (1989)
  • Sheild of Honor by Pakistan Army
  • The Social Worker of Sub-Continent by Govt. of Sindh (1989)

Speaks up the dedication for humanitarian work. He was the beacon of hope and created a charitable organization out of nothing for helping poor and needy. He helped all those people who are in need, ignoring their caste, creed or religion.
