Incredible Role of WHO in COVID-19 Pandemic in Pakistan
The first and most important role the World Health Organization (WHO) played was to
convey accurate and scientific information to the masses. Conveying and collecting correct data from around the globe and convey it to the people. To announce lock downs all around the world to prevent the spread of this virus further, was a crucial step taken by WHO along with the collection of funds and providing supplies. Lastly, conducting training programs for front liners on dealing with this crisis on an emergency basis is commendable.
Heroes Who Do Not Wear Capes
Indeed, everyone’s role during the pandemic is important but the role of doctors,
paramedics, and other front liners holds distinctive importance. These people remain isolated from their families to help others from getting out of the situation safely. Even though the situation is new to them just like the rest of the world, but the bravery and valor demonstrated by front liners must be appreciated. The doctors, paramedics, emergency team, and researchers who are busy developing a vaccine for covid19, day and night, are the real heroes who are sacrificing their comforts and ease to save the world.
Economic Disruption because of Covid19
After covid19, economic crises are ready to attack. It is expected that the unemployment rate will increase from 8.1% because of layoffs from work. This will initiate the cycle of demand and supply. Because of the low capacity of people to buy, the demand will decrease at a shocking rate, consequently, resulting in an economic depression. The aftershocks of covid19 will take a new toll when a difference in the lifestyle of the people in Pakistan will become apparent.
Industries will face a serious blow and many of them will be closed down. However, there are opportunities for growth in industries like IT, entertainment, and commerce. The blow will not be faced by Pakistan alone but the whole world will face a recession in the economy followed by a $2 trillion shortfall in the economy.
Despite having an economic setback to many industries, some industries have shown
improvement in terms of revenue. Online sales and courier, online education, online streaming, and gaming. The growth is explainable, as people around the globe were maintaining physical distancing more time was spent online to socialize.
