On 11 August, 2021 KPL 2021 has reached its halfway mark with two of the high profile matches, the first match has been played between Rawalakot Hawks and Bagh Stallions, followed up by Lions and Royals.
The match was amazing between the teams that have competed in a tourney so far, almost every team has been going for the position to win the covenant prize. Rawalakot hawks beat Bagh stallions by 5 wickets with 10 balls remaining. Bagh stallions scored 156/9 and the opposition successfully chased the target scoring 157/5, the player of the match was Aamer Yamin with his brilliant performance in KPL 2021.
Bagh Stallions won the toss and decided to go for batting. The deprived batting performance was seen as almost all the players of Bagh Stallions except Aamer Yamin couldn’t even cross 20. Shan Masood just scored 20, Rohail Nazir runs 02, Zeeshan Malik adds 17 scores in total scores, Asad Shafique just add 10, while Iftekhar Ahmed, Furqan shafique, Umaid Asif, Muhammad Illyas, Muhammad Imran and Basit Ali could only get 11, 1, 14, 0, 6, 0 respectively. Among these players Aamer Yamin played an exemplary innings by scoring 69 run with 10 boundaries and 3 gorgeous 6s in KPL 2021.
Rawlakot Hawks met with the target in 18th over by losing just 5 wickets. Kashif Ali made 54 while Ahmad Shahzad, Bismillah Khan, Sahibzada Farhan, Samiullah Khan, Hussain Talat, and Muhammad Imran scored 27, 33, 28, 0, 9 and 2 respectively.
Aamer Yamin was announced the player of the Match.
Mirpur Royals Vs Kotli lions
The next match was a barn burner, the battle of attrition, the clash of titans or the unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Mirpur royals and lions played to a draw, both scoring 211 but royals picking up the wins with one-over eliminator. The player of the match was awarded to the lion’s Ahsan Ali.
In the 2nd match, Kotli lions won the toss and decided to field first. The batsman made a huge score of 211 runs on the loss of 6 wickets. Mukhtar Ahmad adds 61 runs in score board, Sharjeel Khan runs 12, Muhammad Akhlaq added 45 runs, while Shoaib Malik, Adil Amin, Khushdil Shah and Ahmad Butt scored 28, 12, 41 and 5 respectively.
The batting performance helped Royals to reach at a strong position but despite of all the efforts the Kotli lions gave a tough time to Mirpur Royals. A magnificent batting of Ahsan Ali helped the team in chasing that big target. Ahsan made his 99 by hitting 10 boundaries and 6 stunning 6s. After the heart thrilling moments, the match got tied. Match went into a super over and at last Kotli won the match. Ahsan Ali was awarded as a player of the match.
