PSL 6 is the second season which is hosted entirely in Pakistan after many years of ban on international cricket. The event started from February 20 with a pre-recorded opening ceremony following the exciting match. The season has been welcomed with excitement and joy. Since the release of the PSL anthem everyone seems to be excited for the matches but thanks to social media which has grabbed the attention of non-cricket fans as well. So far three matches have been played. Karachi Kings won the first match whereas Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United won the second and third match respectively. The forth match is scheduled on Monday at 7 PM between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators.

PSL is a treat to cricket lovers as due to COVID such events have been canceled or avoided as a precaution but it has opened a door of entertainment to others as well. It can be seen that from the release of the PSL anthem to opening ceremony, people have mixed reviews which have divided the nation in two groups which are taking over the social media with love and memes.

Some didn’t like the ceremony as it was too short and some said it didn’t seem like an opening ceremony.

The matches have charged up the nation with exciting matches but again the memers have taken the opportunity to create content to kill time and bring something new.

The matches have been organized under strict precautions, following SOP’s in observance to COVID 19 as last year circumstances started worsening which forced the international players to fly back to their homes and organizers cancelled the matches, therefore the matches were rescheduled after the condition got under control and most of the international players came back to play semifinals and final of the most celebrated cricket league in Pakistan. In this season each team’s squad is consisted on 5 international and 11 local players which is a good opportunity for Pakistan to welcome back international cricket. Hope this season will end successfully with bringing lots of enjoyment and zest for the fans.
